Mexico vs Nigeria by JerryDrake
Date: March 6, 2014, 02:30
Stadium: Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia (United States)
Last times they met, it finished with a draw: 2-2 in 2007 and 2-2 in 2013. This friendly will be played in neutral venue whereas in Atlanta I expect many Mexican fans to follow their National team as they usually do in the United States. There will be at least 62.000 spectators, the number of tickets sold until now.
Mexico will miss Giovani dos Santos but for the first time since many months coach Herrera will have all Mexican players playing in European clubs available. Nigeria will miss Yobo and Bright Dike. I saw Bright Dike playing (and scoring) in a friendly against Italy, a very good player but he does not have many appearances yet with his National team.
Mexico (official line-up): Guillermo Ochoa, Paul Aguilar, Diego Reyes, Rafael Márquez, Héctor Moreno, Andrés Guardado, Juan Carlos Medina, Héctor Herrera, Luis Montes, Oribe Peralta, Javier Hernández. Coach: Miguel Herrera
Nigeria (probable line-up): Enyeama, Oboabona, Omeruo, Ambrose, Elderson, Onazi, Mikel, Moses, Musa, Uchebo, Emenike.
I consider Mexico stronger than Nigeria at the moment, although I like the Super Eagles and I am sure that Nigeria will qualify to the Round of 16 in Brazil together with Argentina.
In front of 62.000 people, I think that both teams will play an open game and that it will be Mexico to win this friendly.
Not called up or injured: Dos Santos, Layún (Messico), Yobo, Dike (Nigeria)
My correct score: 2-1
Bet: Mexico, odds: 2.00 Pinnacle Sports, stake: 8/10
