Oriente Petrolero vs Nacional by JerryDrake

Nacional Montevideo will play in Bolivia an important Copa Libertadores match. In Santa Cruz they will try to win the first leg against Oriente Petrolero in order to ensure the qualification to the group phase. The winner of this match (second leg to be played in Montevideo on February 4th) will have access to Group 6 with Newell's, Gremio and Atletico Nacional.

The Uruguayan team have a great history and tradition as they won 3 Libertadores in 1971, 1980 and 1988 and 3 Intercontinental Cups in the same years. For this fixture they will not have available Arismendi and Ignacio González as well as Santiago Garcia. They signed goalkeeper Munúa who played with Levante and Fiorentina (one game in Europa League) and he should have received the authorization while in the starting line-up there should be National player Andrés Scotti. In the attack they should play with Iván Alonso.

Nacional seem to be very motivated as they played and won two friendlies against Penarol and Atletico Rafaela. Oriente Petrolero finished the Bolivian Apertura on 8th place but they played their last games with a youth team because of a strike of some players. Probably because of this many Argentinian players (Cordoba, Diaz, de Muner) had to leave the team and only Mariano Brau remained in Bolivia. In the meanwhile they signed Ronaldo Raldes, Quero and Mojica. Even though some of them played in the Bolivian national team, we must say that Mojica comes from Petrolul and Quero played his last season in Thailand and they played all together only once against Guabirá. The regulars have not played against Nacional Potosí.

Nacional players and coach all stated that they are going to play an offensive game and try to win. Should they have troubles I count on the support of two players. They are supposed to start from the bench but I like them both: one is Álvaro Recoba (former Inter and Torino player) and the other one is Paulo Rinaldo Cruzado (former Chievo and Newell's player). Cruzado has not had much luck in Italy but I saw him playing often and I think that he paid the fact that Chievo used to avoid playing with many offensive players.

I bet on Nacional to win the first leg. Correct score: 0-2
