Edmonton Oilers vs Calgary by 20legend

Edmonton Oilers has 6-4-0 from their last 10 games. They played amazing especially in the 3rd period in their last games as they beat Colorado Avalanche by 8-2. Taylor Hall became the 1st star with three goals and one assist. Oilers did finally strike back at their own ice, after losing two in a row here previously against the Phoenix Coyotes (2-6) and Chicago Blackhawks (1-5). Before that they also has two high-winning games against the Panthers (4-1) and the Blue Jackets (7-0).

Calgary was on a good wave as they won both against LA Kings and Phoenix Coyotes, but they got knocked down by Colorado Avalanche at the 6th of December, the same opponent as Edmonton crushed 8-2 the night after. They have 4-4-2 on their last 10 games and usually struggle against today’s opponent. Edmonton won the latest clash with the score 2-4 at November 17th.

Both teams are in the bottom of the Eastern Conference as Edmonton is last (14th), while Calgary is second last (13th). Both teams concede a lot of goals as well, but I fancy Edmonton Oilers tonight as the home advantage should count a certain part here. Oilers do also have the upper hand from their last meeting so they know what to do right. They are also coming from their biggest win this season, while Calgary has the opposite feeling as they were on a good row, before losing against the Avalanche (2-3).

A player that has been very good so far, and remains on a hot-streak during these days is Oilers’ left-wing David Perron (12 goals and 12 assists) who has four goals and two assists in his past four games. He did also score the important 2-3 goal in the opposite meeting, which forced the Flames to take out their goaltender, which finally led to the 2-4 win with Boyd Gordon’s empty net goal. I think that he will be there once again and help the Oilers to keep the good spirit from their last game and to build on that feeling.
