Galatasaray vs Konyaspor by 20legend

Galatasaray are finally looking to have found back to themselves after their terrible start at the season. With 3-1-1 in their last five games in the Turkish Super Lig and a current 2nd place in CL Group B, they are starting to act like Galatasaray should. They were almost starting to lose it once again and go back to old habits against Kayserispor last weekend. After taking a well-deserved 0-2 lead in just 25 minutes, things fell completely apart towards half-time, as they gave Kayserispor two opportunities in 1 minute, with a penalty in the 44th minute and another goal in the 45th minute, making it 2-2 at half-time. However, it was not any doubt in the second half as Burak Yilmaz and Didier Drogba fixed a 2-4 victory in an impressive second half. That victory got Galatasaray up to a 4th place at the table with a total 4-4-1 and 16 points, just six points up to 1st placed Fenerbahce.

Midfielder Hamit Altintop (2/0) remains out during his long term injury (Hernia), while defender Hakan Kadir Balta (8/0) is still missing with his knee injury. Also defender Gökhan Zan (4/0) is on a day-to-day term and is doubtful tonight.

Konyaspor is at the lower half of the table (12th) with 10 points after 3-1-5 this season. Their performances have been all over the place lately with 2-1-2 on their last five fixtures. They have met teams placed around themselves in their past three games which shows their unstable results. They won a narrow 1-0 against Kayseri Erciyesspor (17th), before they got a 3-3 draw against Gaziantepspor (14th) and they lost 1-0 against Bursaspor (10th) in their last match.

Midfielder Ali Camdali (9/2) is out during his yellow card suspension, while the two other midfielders Cristovao Ramos (0/0) and Ishak Cakmak (6/0) are both out with injuries. Also defender Elvis Kokalovic (7/0) will be missing due to injury.

This should be another win for a Galatasaray on a good row. However, it is important to keep in mind their Champions League match next week in Denmark against FC Copenhagen. Although that is a very important match to take another three points for promotion to the CL knockout stages, I do not think that they will take it too much easy here. They have got an unbelievable squad with quality players all over the place, and someone has to play tonight as well. Konyaspor should not be able to get anything from this game as they are too unstable in their performances. I recon Galatasaray to continue their recently good work, dominate the game with their offensive weapons, and take another three points with goals scored in both halves.
