Chelsea vs Cardiff by Rostick

Chelsea
VS
Cardiff
Chelsea did not start the season in the best possible fashion, but after some mixed performances under Mourinho they have finally managed to find their best form. Chelsea is on the back of 3 brilliant performances against Tottenham, Steaua and Norwich, especially thanks to their fantastic offense, which sees Hazard, Mata, Oscar, De Bruyne, Schurrle or Willian operate behind strikers Torres / Demba Ba / Eto`o.

Cardiff has been decent so far in the Premier League, 8 points in 7 rounds being a good record for the relegation battlers. Cardiff started well but they really lack quality, they are the worst PL team along with Crystal Palace in terms of the squad, and recent results are an indicative of hard times to come for the welsh: 3 defeats in the last 4 games (all competitions). Cardiff is a home team and despite playing ok on the road so far, their survival will depend on points gained on their own turf.

Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Cech – Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Bertrand – Ramires, Lampard – Hazard, Oscar, Mata – Ba.

Cardiff (4-1-4-1): Marshall – Théophile-Catherine, Caulker, Turner, Taylor – Medel – Odemwingie, Gunnarson, Whittingham, Kim – Campbell.

Chelsea without Schurrle, Cole and Van Ginkel. Torres will probably be used as a substitute. Cardiff will miss Cornelius.

This a simple bet, my input is that it`s the best of the round in Premier League. Chelsea has the quality, the form and the important advantage of playing at home. Their brilliant offense should help them not only win, but also cover the spread. Not much else to say, I`ll keep this short and concise. I`d go for a 4-1 Chelsea win here, the hosts are really playing great, they won all their home games and they need the points badly to keep up with Arsenal`s pace at the top of the table.
