Tennis Challenger, Sacramento (hard)
Daniel Evans is 156th on ATP, he finally revealed his potential during the summer, indeed he reached the final of 2 Challenger on hard in Vancouver and Aptos, then he did a great US Open where he passed the qualifying tournament and then reached the 3rd round by beating Tomic and especially Nishikori, probably the best match of his career, he played his best tennis by being strong on his baseline and then making few faults.
I expect him to confirm during this end of season. Last week, he lost early in the Challenger of Napa but he met left-handed player Klahn who is his pet peeve.
His opponent Rhyne Williams is 124th on ATP, his summer was decent with some wins on ATP or Challenger, but no win really impressive. He is a player with a good serve and he has a better backhand than Evans, but those are the only skills which are better than Evans's one to my mind. Always to my mind, Evans has a better forehand, tactical knowledge, stamina and especially he is more solid on his baseline than Williams who doesn't move well on the court.
So, I think that Evans will win this match, and I will try his win in 2 sets.
