Vallecano vs Barcelona by Marlo

Pick based on Asian handicap. Not familiar with handicaps? Read our Asian handicap betting guide
I will make this short as I seriously doubt anyone wants to hear me list the reasons why I am backing Barcelona. You most likely want to know which route I am going to take to secure value. (If any value is to be had in the first place).

With Barcelona games, it is best to opt for goals as often it ends up being high scoring with Barcelona not often covering the required handicaps. For instance, in the last game they were leading and then ended up being 2-2 going into injury time against Sevilla where a late late Messi winner got them 3 points and rescued many an accumulator.

So I would suggest over 3.5 goals considering the stats which are firmly in favour of it taking the fixture and opponent into consideration.

However, I have noticed a pick which should be even more rewarding than backing goals. I will opt for Barcelona first half asian of -1AH.

This means that if Barcelona are leading 1-0 at half time, we have a push and our stake is refunded. However, if Barcelona are up by more than a goal at the break our pick wins.

The reason for this pick is because Barcelona have been leading at the break in most of their matches recently and I expect them to start strong here too.

Rayo Vallecano have been taking some hammerings so far with 5-0 on 2 occassions against Athletico and Malaga and I can see Barcelona inflicting similar damage if they are in the mood.

Expect a minimum of a 1-0 lead at the break.
