Celtic would have several motivation factors going into in this match: a win for them today will see them jointly share point with Inverness (per same no of 6 matches); goal difference could also count as Inverness are at +9 while Celtic are at +6. Celtic last home match was when they welcomed Inverness, first letting 2 goals slip before finally settling for a 2-2 deserved draw and a win would even have been ideal. They are coming from a Champion's league trip to Milan where they played well but fell to two cheap goals (first been an own goal) towards the dieing moment of the game.

Coach Neil Lennon had this to say:

"The players are fine, a bit stiff which is natural after an intense game. No fresh injury worries.

"They know they played well. Will be disappointed but the best thing they can do is get back out and play again.

His side will miss the trio of Joe Ledley, James Forrest and Beram Kayal who were not part of the trip to Milan.

St. Johnstone seems to have cascaded their exit at the Europa League into their league performance. Although they got a part resurgence with an emphatic 4-0 when they welcomed Ross County, the side have followed with 1 point from last 9 available, scoring once in the process. St. Johnstone have been dominated heavily in last 3 matches and it all heightened in their 1-2 loss at home when they welcomed Hibernain, halting their record on a ground they've not lost since last year November. In that match, May S. had put host ahead courtesy a brilliant goal but they couldn't consolidate on the momentum and let guest took over the game, equalized and later won 2-1. St. Johnstone had only 3 shots on goal as against Hibs 8 and even had less ball possession on their home ground (43%).

David Robertson is the only injury for St Johnstone, with Frazer Wright declaring himself fit for the match after limping off during last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Hibernian.

After an impressive display in their 2-0 loss to Milan in the Champion's league, Celtic are motivated to come strong against today's opponent. Although they were inconsistent after their matches in Europe last season, losing their only two home matches of the season following trips on the continent in the Champions League, there seem to be ranges of motivation this time as their opponent are experiencing a poor run and anything other than a victory for Celtic in this match will be a huge surprise. I expect a winning margin similar to their 6-2 win over Dundee Utd after they'd lost 3-0 to Juventus in the Champion's league last season.pin
