Serbia arrived here with very young players where even nine of the twelve are the newcomers on the big competitions. Not so many of the experts gave them much chance on this championship but Dusan Ivkovic has once again demonstrated why he is the best coach in Europe and made a respectable team. Of course there were good and bad matches (5-3 their actual score so far), but it is obvious that Serbia against the two toughest opponents so far played the best games. It was at the premiere against Lithuania and the last match against France. So I believe that Serbia can surprise also against Spain, or at least to remain under this handicap.
On the other side, Spain at this championship also has lost three times, but also had some phenomenal games, for example when they trashed Croatia with 30 points difference.
The thing which can be a problem for Serbia today is the fact that Stefan Markovic remains doubtful and note he was the best defender of the Serbian team. Yet I believe that Ivkovic can find solutions to compensate again Markovic's possible absence. At the other positions I think Serbia more or less can compete with Spaniards, starting in the paint where Nenad Krstic will lead a great battle against Mark Gasol, or over players like Bjelica, Bogdanovic and Nedovic (which finally started hitting long shots) that should be able to respond on Spanish outstanding shooting from the long range.
