Dortmund vs Werder by Sureseye
Dortmund will continue to do without long-term injured Lukasz Piszczek and key holding midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. First choice goal keeper Weidenfeller is a strong doubt having just caught a flu but Mitch Langerak can make his third appearance in the goal this season, having already featured in two cup matches.
Werder Bremen started the season on a bright note winning their first two matches on a clean sheet. The real test for Bremen will however come in this match as the two opponents played before now were rather much weaker teams and are expected to go down relegation or at most finish bottom half of the table by end of season.
They continue to be without key midfielder Philip Bargfrede and defender Lukas Schmitz as well as midfielder Predrag Stevanovic but all three were without any participation so far in the league matches. Defender Luca Caldirola played a strong role in their match against Augsburg but has sprained his ankle in training and his performance today is questionable today but head coach Dutt is confident the team will have a stable defence without him. Right midfielder Clemens Fritz might return after been sidelined last match.
Game-wise, Dortmund haven’t started the season in the highest of strength i’d expected but in either case, it is the first back-to-back home wins they’ve got since the last 11 seasons. Robin Huth’s side who have played well at the back in their first two matches (against weak teams though) will hope to keep a clean sheet for the next 270 minutes and will at least pay more attention to the defence lines for the first 45 minutes.
• In their first two league matches, both teams have played with less than 1 goal in first half
• There has been one goal scored in the first half in 4 out of last 5 Werder Bremen visit to Dortmund with Dortmund leading 1-0 by Half-time in those four times
