Rostov's busyness over the transfer period no doubt had paid off so far, and the team should be happy after accumulating 9 points from the last available 12 have seen them occupying the third position on the league table. It is no doubt an enviable spot on the league table as it means they're currently above CSKA moscow, Dynamo moscow and Anzhi. The onus will also lie on how much Montenegro coach Miodrag Bozovik can gear his men to maintain the positive trend.

They've played their first three matches at home: 2-1 vs Terek Grozni, 2-2 vs Krasnodar and 3-0 vs Tomsk before travelling to peep much troubled Anzhi 1-0 on travel. Although none of the wins at home had come by surprise as opponents were within their ranks, with 8 goals from 4 matches however, Rostov had scored freely. Meanwhile, the quality of the goals might again be in question; 6 of the goals were scored by Dzyuba Artom in the first 3 matches: 3 of the goals were scored from the penalty spot and 3 of the 6 were very late goals (two penalties inclusive). Since joining Rostov, Dzyuba had long surpassed his record at Spartak Moscow where he scored 4 goals in 25 matches.

As stated earlier, their last match was a 1-0 over troubled Anzhi who also had to deal without Eshchenko, Zhirkov in that match and unsettled new coach hunted them as well.

Playing compact in their first four matches, Volga have also been on the bright side in terms of result and especially pulled two good results on travel: (2-2 vs Dynamo Moscow and 1-2 vs Ural). In-between those matches lost at home understandably to better teams of Lokomotiv Moscow (1-2) and in last match when they welcomed Zenith (1-3). Similar to today's host, they also got busy in the trsnsfer period which also has been paying off with firepowers from Jamaican Luton Shelton and Mulumba Mukendi in attack, Andrei Karyaka marshalling the midfield.

Last match welcoming Zenith, home side equalized Danny's goal in 21 minute and the half was balanced. Before half time, the referee wrongly awarded a second yellow to Hulk (away team) and got him sent off. Hosts began to explore thereafter, dominated play (63% in second half), created but missed several attempts. They later got punished as they fell into the hands of Danny in 82 minutes and 89 minutes of the match who completed his hat-trick for the day.

Loosing to Zenith wouldn't be a bad result as they are one of the title favourites especially following Anzhi's unsettleness. Despite the last home defeat of Volga, it was a good game from the host and it is not in any way enough to dampen their morale as they travel to Rostov, a team whom they have at least almost same quality with.

I have watched the two teams play and I can't see Volga loosing today. Its more of a personal opinion though, and the odds are worth a shot for me. Good luck on whatever anyone picks.
