Hajduk Split vs Turnovo by Sureseye
As part of Marin Brbić's strategy to continue to solve Hajduk financial worries, Hajduk senior team comprised a mix of young and experienced team unlike the 2011-2012 season when expensive and supposed 'experience' players were recruited into the team under the famous Bulgarian international coach Krasimir Balakov.
In April 2013, Igor Tudor was appointed as the new Hajduk Split manager. He saw the team through winning the Croatian Cup in May 2013 after defeating Lokomotiva in the final.
About two weeks ago, they played in the Super Cup and lost on penalties to better Dinamo Zagreb after playing 1-1 in regular time.
Hajduk started the Coatia HNL season with a 5-1 win over Zadar on Saturday, articulating as a team and scoring freely.
To qualify for this stage, Trnovo played 2-2 in both legs against Suduva and finally won on penalties.
In the first leg away to Suduva, the home side got ahead through an incisive volley from Basic P. In the 23'. About 7 minutes later, Baldovaliev made an incisive and darting run before finally beating the keeper to the left hand side levelling for Suduva. Turnovo converted a penalty shortly before half time and were ahead by half time. Suduva came blazing in the second half and missed so many chances that should have made them equalize and seal a comfortable victory.
A relief finally came for them when Valskis shot beat Turnovo's goalkeeper in the 85'.
The second leg in Trnovo's home seems almost fairly balance though the guest were leading 2-1 until the referee awarded a penalty for the home side after a scramble play in the 18-yard, a controversial decision IMO. Overall, Suduva had a better play in both legs; dominated and scored all their goals from the run of play. Turnovo scored 2 penalties in the 2-legged affair and had that moment of brilliance from Baldovaliev revived their hope.
Away to Hadjuk Split, Turnovo will face a more difficult task against a side who have european ambition and who plays at least two level higher. Turnovo are very poor defensively but also are good in the attack, also making a goal market a good place to visit.
I expect something like 3-1 or 4-2
