Stromsgodset vs Aalesund by 20legend

The last round of Tippeligaen before the summer-break and two of the best teams at the moment meet at Marienlyst Stadium tonight.

Stromsgodset is the best team in Norway at the moment and the table shows just that. With their quick and techniqual way of playing, they have brought down one opponent after the other so far this season. They have 8-2-1, 24-7 on goal difference and 26 points, which takes the in a clear 1st place at the table, five points ahead of number 2nd placed Rosenborg.

Stromgodset smashed Start 6-0 away from home in their last match in Tippeligaen, and if they win here, they can take a comfortable vacation at the clear number 1. They are also the strongest team at home right now with 5-1-0 in their first six home games, and 12-3 on goal difference.

Defender Horn is suspended and attacker Sorum is missing the match during an injury. The playmaker Keita is out also with what seems to be a hamstring injury. However, he gets replaced by another of Stromsgodset’s in-form players, as Diomande takes his place.

Aalesund won 2-0 against Odd at home last Monday and keeps themselves at 3rd place with 6-2-3, 23-14 on goal difference and 20 points. After a massive start at the start of the season, things have gone a bit up and down for Aalesund lately. They have lost all their three last games away from home, against Brann (2-0), Molde (4-1) and Valerenga (2-1), which means that they have let in eight goals in three away games.

The club got some sad news yesterday as one of their most important midfielders and playmaker Jason Morrison is out during embolism in his lungs, which means that he miss the rest of the season. That is some terrible news and especially for Aalesund and Morrison himself, who has been one of the dominant figures in Tippeligaen for some time now.

Daniel Arnefjord, Petter Orry Larsen and Tremaine Stewart is expected to be out during injuries, while defender Nordvik may return.

Stromsgodset have just kept up the pace in their way of playing throughout all their 11 games so far, while Aalesund have been struggling more away from home lately. These clubs have met 18 times now, and only 4 games have gone under 2.5 goals. Stromsgodset have won 13 of them, while Aalesund have just 3 victories of the 18 matches. The three last matches at Marienlyst Stadium have ended in 4-0. 2-2 and 3-1.

Both teams have shown that they are very good this season and especially in their offensive part. Stromsgodset are clear favorites at home were they have 5-1-0 this season, and every opponent have some fear towards playing here. They won 6-0 against Start in their last match, but they might not get it as easy in this match.

The home team has led at half time in 5 of 6 home games so far, and I think that they can do it again. The home fans want a victory here so they can take the summer-break as unbeaten at home. I think that Stromsgodset will win against Aalesund, but I also think that they could score in both halves as well, as they have done in 3 of 5 home games this season.
