Stoke City vs Aston Villa by Jamesington
Contrary to what you might think, Stoke are the 1st team and Aston Villa the 2nd. Stoke's form recently has been terrible - the Potters have picked up 1 point in 5 matches and have only 1 win in 2013. They have failed to score in 4 of their last 5 matches and despite creating a number of chances last week against Everton they failed to convert any of them.
In contrast, Aston Villa have 3 wins and a draw from their last 7 matches, the losses coming against Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool - none of which was by more than a goal. Villa have managed to find the net on 12 occasions over this period of 7 games and at times looked very dangerous against Liverpool - they can consider themselves unlucky to have lost the match.
To me, the current form of both these sides indicates that Villa will give this a real go and are unlikely to lose - a win may be beyond them as Stoke is always a tough place to go but it seems unlikely we'll be reading about a home win.
6pts on ASTON VILLA +1 - Betway @ 1.8
When looking at these 2 teams in a head-to-head situation there is an interesting pattern - each of the last 4 meetings has resulted in a draw (0-0, 1-1, 0-0, 1-1). Of the past 8 matches 6 have ended in draws. With this in mind I am keen on a few small correct score wagers too:
1pt 0-0 Draw - Skybet @ 10.0
1pt 1-1 Draw - BetVictor @ 7.5
1pt 0-1 Villa - BetVictor @ 10.5
It should be noted that the last two matches these sides contested at the Britannia stadium both finished 0-0, in addition to the corresponding fixture this season at Villa Park. Also, no team has drawn more home matches this season than Stoke and only 5 sides have more away draws than Villa.
