One of the most interesting games in the round of 16 in this year's Champions League is the one between Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Dortmund. Is really a shame that these two wonderfull team have to meet eachother so early, since both played magnificently in the group stage and dominated very though groups. Shakhtar is definitely weakened by the departure of William to Anzhi, but his replacement, Taison is also a very promosing young man. Borussia played very well in the first games in Bundesliga in 2013, they lost heavily against HSV last weekend but i wouldn't emphasize that result since the "prussians" clearly thought more about today's game than about the one with HSV. Nobody will be missing today from Borussia's lineup, Gundogan and Schmelzer return tu the first eleven and on paper this team looks very good, like a serious contender to even win the competition. Shakhtar under Lucescu has become one of the most powerfull teams in Europe, but I think R8 represents "a bridge too far" since they will take on one of the most powerfull teams in the world to get there. They also lack competitive games in the last months with the winter break of the Ukrainian Premier League. Borussia is deadly on counters and I think Shakhtar will learn that first hand this evening.
