Stoke City vs Reading by Jamesington
I admit, backing a team who have been in the relegation zone for much of the season to go to Stoke - a notoriously tough team to take on at home - and come away with something is an unusual stance to take but the Reading of recent weeks is a completely different side from that which has found itself on the wrong end of defeat after defeat.
Formwise, no team in the Premiership has taken more points in their past four matches than Reading (only Manchester United have managed to take the same number) and no side has taken fewer than Stoke - who have not won since December 26th (and that was their only victory in their past 10 league matches).
Reading have been playing with passion, skill and belief in their past few matches - the goals of Adam Le Fondre off the bench have helped too. They picked up both Manager of the month award and Player of the month (Brian McDermott and Le Fondre) for January as well.
Whilst it is true the Britannia Stadium is a tough place to come away from with 3 points, it is not exactly rare for teams to avoid defeat there - Stoke have won 5 of their 12 home matches, a solid if unspectacular record to back up their reputation.
Interestingly, as well, Reading have not lost against Stoke in any of the clubs' past seven meetings - going back to 2004.
