Melbourne V. vs Western Sydney by Vasilli07

Melbourne Victory winless start to the league campaign was extended to four games as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Central Coast Mariners last week. They had the goal posts to thank for the point as the Mariners hit them twice.

Western Sydney will begin life under new coach Josep Gombau. He was an ex coach of Adelaide United and will be long term replacement for favs Tony Popovic. He won't be in charge of this game and interim coach Hayden Foxe will take charge for one last time. During his time, he has lead the Wanderers to a win and four draws.

With the international break coming up, Melbourne Victory will be without two of their starting attacking midfielders. Kosta Barbarouses and James Troisi has been called by New Zealand and Australia respectively. Star striker Besart Berisha will serve the final game of his suspension. Western Sydney notable absentee will only be rightback Josh Risdon.

Victory performances haven't been good so far and things won't get any easier today. Replacement players like Mitch Austin and Jai Ingham imo are really not that good. Western Sydney may be winless in their last four games but they have impress me more than Victory. Unless they can suddenly step up and put in some MOTM like performances, Western Sydney will fancy their chance of getting a rare win in Melbourne today.
