Austria Vienna vs Mattersburg by Dajkula

Austria-Vienna
VS
Mattersburg
Austria Vienna hosts Mattersburg in round 14 of the Bundesliga. It has been a while since Austria won in the league and all started with a big loss to Sturm which was followed by a loss to Rijeka in Europa. Big injury problems are a big part of the problem but not the only one. Since the start of the season Austria hasn`t looked convincing picking up only 5 wins so far. The defense suffers and I don`t know if Fink wil be a coach there much longer. Austria is fifth with 19 points and already 13 behind Sturm. The last home game was lost vs Rapid but before that Austria had a good run wining 3 of 4.

It might go better for Austria though as the latest win over Rijeka 1:4 filled them with comfidence. Autria was passing the ball well and was always dangerous in front of goal. Prokop was brilliant in midfield and Holzhauser dangerous from sest pieces. All in all Austria looked like a very dangerous team. Now if they can repeat that at home Mattersburg will stand no chance.

Mattersburg is down in 8`th placce with 8 points and only St.Polten is worse. Interestingly enough their results are better away from home where they took 4 draws and play much tighter and defense oriented. It has worked much better than at home where they already have 5 losses. Mattersburg has 0-4-2 away from home and 8:10 goal difference. They took point from Lask and Rapid and also made troubles for Sturm.

Austria will have their hands full but this is a perfect time to put on a run. Mattersburg is their most welcomed opponent and they actually won 13 of the last 14 matches against them. They will not get a better suited opponent.

Coach Fink emphasize the importenace of getting back on track in the league and they have to give it all today. Home win.
