Melbourne City continued their perfect start to the season after they got an impressive 2-0 win at Adelaide United, with Ross McCormack scoring twice.

Sydney also continue their good start as they beat Perth Glory 2-0 at home. It was a game with controversy as the VAR used three to four minutes to check on a pk decision. Three pks were awarded in the game.

Both sides met as recently as September in the FFA Cup where Sydney came out as victors with a 3-1 scoreline. This time round, Melbourne City seems to be confident. Their defence has been really tight so far as they only conceded a goal and has kept three clean sheets in four games. Sydney is probably still the competition strongest side but I don't think they are as dominating as last season. With Melbourne resolute defence, I feel they should be able to get at least a point from the hands of Premiers Plate winner Sydney FC.
