Fenerbahce vs Valencia by Tipitip
Fenerbahce Dogus will host Valencia Basket in the 5th round of Euroleague. Before entering the match preview, I want to talk about FB Dogus. At the moment, FB Dogus has 2 wins and 2 losses, which they also could have win. After losing their defensive leader Ekpe Udoh and offensive leader Bodgan Bogdanovic, FB Dogus added some important players into squad. IMO, the upcoming problem awaits for them is to find the team leader in both sides of the court. It can be said that Vesely is the favourite one to replace Ekpe Udoh's defensive role, but in the offense side, there is no one stepped up yet. But I can say that Sloukas and Wanamaker are the biggest candidates considering that Bobby Dixon needs more time to recover his match condition. Obradovic has managed to stick his squad building plan in the summer. He replaced Pero Antic with Nicola Melli in order to keep a stretch big in the squad. He brought Guduric as a new investment for the club. He added Jason Thompson as an athletic big but obviosly not for replacing Ekpe's defensive role, because this guy don't know how to take position in the defence. He gets too many early calls in short times, this is because maybe he wants to bring energy to the team, but he needs more way to learn how to defense, if he wants to stay in FB Dogus. For me, Wanamaker is the best signing for FB Dogus. He can be a two way star for them, if he improves his defensive IQ. In recent matches, Melli began to show good plays. Considering Thompson's limited time due to his foul trouble, Melli's performance is going to be important for the team. On the other hand, Valencia is on a hot streak right now with winning their last 5 matches. They have won 3 games out of 4 in the Euroleague. They have strengthed their squad with signing Erick Green and Tibor Pleiss. I watched them against Anadolu Efes, where they beat Anadolu Efes in the home. Efes is one of the worst teams in the Euroleague this season, but however they managed to stay in the game in the last quarter. If FB Dogus managed to stop Valencia's shooters, they will get an easy victory. Since the odds are low for the home win, my pick is FB Dogus to win HT/FT @1.75 .
