Tottenham vs Real Madrid by Pacifier

Tottenham are joint top of the group with Madrid on seven points and will take a massive step towards qualification to the next round with a victory tonight. Tottenham have had a difficult week having lost in the league cup to West Ham despite leading by 2-0 before succumbing to a 3-2 loss, then followed that with a 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on saturday. They welcome back Harry Kane and he should slot back into the starting. They should lineup in a 3-5-1-1 formation with Kane ahead and Alli in support with the trio of Winks, Denbele, Eriksen in central midfield, flanked by Vertonghen and Serge Aurier in the wing back roles and Sanchez, Dier and Alderweireld. They are still without Wanyama and Lamela.

Real MAdrid struggles this season continued with a shock 2-1 loss at newly promoted Girona. They now face an uphill task of catching Barcelona at the top of the but they can however continue their solid form in Europe with a victory tonight. Madrid still possess arguably the most talented squad in Europe and their quality cannot be undermined on their day. However, they have been showing some below par performances especially at home this season and manager Zinedine Zidane needs to change something fast before the pressure starts mounting up on him and the team. Tottenham former boy, Gareth Bale misses out with Varane also sustaining an injury in the Girona game. Carvajal is back but he is unlikely to make the team here as he continues to be monitored after his heart problems. Keylor Navas is also injured so Casilla should continue in goal. Ronaldo has been in fine form in the Champions league with five ggoals so far and he will lead the line alongside Benzema in a 4-3-1-2 formation with Isco offering the support behind them. The solid trio of Casemiro, Kroos and Modric will play in central midfield with Nacho coming into the team to partner Sergio Ramos after the injury to Varane. Marcelo will start in the left back position and Hakimi could be drafted to the right back role.

Both teams need a morale boosting win after both suffering defeats at the weekend, but I feel Madrid are the better side her and will control proceedings here. The 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu was a great result for Tottenham but I think they will lose here as they are not looking threatening enough at the moment.
