Napoli vs Man City by Rahul

Napoli have been quite strong this season whether it being scoring goals or picking up the tight victories with just 1 loss this entire season against Man City in the previous leg and 1 draw against Inter. Since then they beat Genoa by a 3-2 scoreline away from home before winning 3-1 to Sassuolo after conceding first this past weekend. Despite their quartet of Hamsik, Mertens, Insigne and Hamsik contributing to their strong goal scoring efforts of netting close to 3 goals per game; they have been conceding goals off late conceding 3 of their last 4 games. Napoli know that they have to make home crowd support count just like Roma did last night as they are sitting 3rd spot in the table with just 1 win from their 3 games played and a loss here would see them struggle to make it out of this group stage.

Manchester City have been extremely strong on paper this season; but there has been some sense of vulnerability when they take on good teams, especially away from home. However, they have made it 15 games without defeat since a solitary draw against Everton. On the weekend, while they scored 3 goals against West Brom; they should defensive frailties conceding 2 goals against them. Offensively, there is no concern with Jesus, Sane and Sterling likely to start and are in good scoring form heading into this game. Manchester City have won 100% of their away games this season and averaged three goals per game.

This game like the first encounter should see both teams finding the back of the net, but I expect a winner to be found especially with Napoli chasing this game, they could either score and win or conceding on the counter attack. I am going to be backing over 2.5 goals & both teams to score in this encounter.

Bad opening: Napoli has more than 1 loss this season, in fact exactly at their first CL game against Shakhtar away where they were beate 2-1.

You are going with a safe bet however, but 9/10 is a bit much imo.
Other than that, I agree with you on Napoli needing the 3 points here. They are prioritizing Serie A at the moment, but they wouldn't want to stall and not make it past the group.
