Porto vs RB Leipzig by Pacifier

Porto
VS
RB-Leipzig
Porto simply cannot afford to drop points here as they face the prospect of elimination in the group stages except they can string together victories in the remaining three matches. First up is RB Leipzig who beat them by 3-2 in Germany a fortnight ago. Porto are doing well in domestic competition, remaining unbeaten so far and are favourites to win the Portuguese league but it will be a big disappointment if they do not qualify from this group. They got a shock result on matchday 1 when they lost at home to Turkish giants Besiktas by 3-1 but did well to beat French champions Monaco in France but then lost 3-2 to LEipzig. They need the three points here today to move into 2nd place on the log. Vincent Aboubakar who has scored three goals in the champions league will lead the line in a 4-2-3-1 formation while being supported by the trio of YAcine Brahimi, Herrera and Mariga.

Leipzig had a dip in form at the start of the season but have bounced back superbly, and few are questioning there ability now despite having a relatively young squad with an average age of 23 years. They lost their last league game at the weekend away at Bayern but they need to be ready for this game s it could very well define their European season. They are playing in this competition for the first time and experience could count against them against the bigger team but they have certainly shown guile and determination in their games so far to suggest they can at the least make it out of the group. Stefan Ilsanker and Naby Keita are doubtful for the game but they should be fit enough to start the game. Apart from those two, they have a fully fit squad at their disposal and should line up in their usual 4-4-2 formation.

This game is important for both teams but I reckon Porto should be too strong for their relatively young and inexperienced opponents especially since they are playing at home where their sole dropped points have come against Besiktas. Bar that and they have absolutely decimated every opponent on this ground this season winning by at least a three goal margin in all other five games played on the ground and while a similar trashing is far fetched against the Germans, I believe they are the stronger of the two side and should secure all three points today.

Absolutely agree with you. Im suspect because im a Porto fan but the odds going up for Porto just are making me willing to put more money for them.

Match against Besiktas was by many in Portugal called as a casting mistake... by the young coach. But he assumed the responsabilities for that poor preparation for that match. Againsy Besiktas, Porto's midfield was inexistant and completely dominated by Leipzig. It wont happen this time. Porto will play for goals throughout the 90 mins as they always do.

Its Holiday here in Portugal so expect a full stadium and an excitint atmosphere that can be even more difficult for the young Leipzig squad.

Good analysis.
Good luck!
