Vancouver Whitecaps made light work of San Jose Earthquakes in the knockout round as they won 5-0. Fredy Montero set them on their way with a first half header. In the second half, goals by Cristian Techera, captain Kendall Waston and a late brace by super sub Nicolas Mezquida seal the deal for them.

Seattle Sounders finished second and as a result receive a bye into the semis. On the injury front, Victor Rodriguez, Gustav Svensson, and Jordan Morris are highly unlikely to play. Captain Osvaldo Alonso could return after being out for a month. Clint Dempsey will be suspended after his red card in the last regular season game against the Rapids.

Fatigue shouldn't be too much of a factor as Whitecaps played at Vancouver last week so they didn't have to travel much. Their spirits should be high as well. Sounders come into this game with a few injuries worries. Their last 10 road games have seen them only winning twice (against lowly Rapids and Minnesota). Even if the Whitecaps don't win this game, I think they should be able to avoid defeat too. pin
