Watford vs Stoke City by Dwofl

Premier league football at Vicarage road where Marco Silva's Watford welcomes Mark Hughes' Stoke City.

Watford are coming into this game at a high 6th place in the table in a fairly delicate situation where a win could see them rise to 4th and a loss might drop them as far as 10th place. Despite their seemingly poor home form (1:2:1) they actually put in some inspiring performances in those games where they drew against Liverpool (3:3), won against Arsenal (2:1), battled to a draw against Brighton while being down to 10 men since the 24th min, and alas that devastating loss (0:6) to ManCity. But to be fair ManCity do look unstoppable at the moment. Watford are coming into this game after a 4:2 loss away to Chelsea where they held the Champions to a draw until the 87th min when Azpi and Michy both made it to the score sheet.

Players such as Richarlison, Pereyra and Doucoure are enjoying life under their new manager and I believe Watford will pose a challange for many teams in their respective quality rank, especially after the shifts they put in against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. They have Stoke, Everton, West Ham and Newcastle in the next 4 game weeks before hosting ManUtd and they will surely seek to grab as many points as possible in these fixtures. Injuries remain as Kaboul, Prodl, Success, Cathcart and Chalobah are sidelined for the match against Stoke.

On the other hand Stoke City are in a terrible run of form, winning only one game (2:1 against Southampton) since mid August. They lost to Bournemouth, ManCity, Chelsea, Newcastle and drew against WBA and ManUtd. Mark Hughes is clearly having issues with his defensive like even more so than with the forwards as they have conceded a whopping 20 goals (the most in the PL so far this season) and they just don't seem good enough at the moment. They are currently 17th hovering just above the relegation zone with 8th points just like Swansea, West Ham and Everton and a point above Bournemouth. Stoke has a silver lining at the moment in Mame Diouf who somehow managed to score in 3 consecutive games and will surely lead the visiting attack tomorrow.

Stoke threw everything they had against a struggling Bournemouth and even their best players failed to grab a point.

Stoke are yet to win a game away from home this season and I highly doubt that they will start at Vicarage Road tomorrow against a side that probably can't wait to face "someone their own size".

Richarlison, Deeney and Pereyra backed by Cleverley and Doucoure should be enough to get the job done for the hosts tomorrow and as much as I would love to test fate and go for an Asian handicap win, I'm just gonna go with a straight up home win as I don't see the game going in any other direction and the odds are too juicy.

Good luck everyone.
