Mainz vs Eintracht Frankfurt by IMW
With 10 points and a goal difference of -5 (10 goals for them, 15 against them) Mainz is sitting at the 12th place in the German Bundesliga. In midweek they had to play against Holstein Kiel in the DFB Pokal. They had some troubles as they only could win 3:2 in extra time, after the game ended 2:2 in full time. Moreover their last league game wasn't very convincing too as they lost 2:0 against Schalke 04 in an away game. Also Mainz has big injury troubles as their goalkeeper Rene Adler got injured last the game against Holstein Kiel in the cup because of a hamstring injury. Leon Balogun still injured and Abdou Diallo doubtful for this match.
Frankfurt started the season very well. After 9 rounds and a record of 4-2-3 they already have 14 points and are situated on the 7th place, right in front of the qualification places for Europe. But 2 of their victories came in their last 3 league games where they could win against Hannover 96 1:2 on the road and 2:1 at home against Stuttgart. Also they showed a great performance against the league leaders Borrussia Dortmund in the last league match where the game ended 2:2. They also had no problems against Schweinfurt in the cup as they won 0:4 against them on Tuesday. Timothy Chandler will be not available for this match as hey got injured in the match against Schweinfurt. Falette returns from a suspension and Marc Stendera is fully fit again.
Both teams had troubles keeping a clean sheet lately. Mainz conceded in all of their matches this season so far except one. Frankfurt conceded in 5 of their last 7 matches. Furthermore when these two teams played against each other there where always many goals: 4:2, 3:0, 2:1, 2:1, 3:1, 2:2. Frankfurt is in very good shape so I see them as the favorite here and I think that this match will end with many goals, as Mainz's goalkeeper is injured too.
