Antwerp vs Standard Liege by Pacifier
Standard Liege have recovered from their poor start to the season to move into 11th spot on the log with fifteen points. They are now just three points shy of the championship play-off spot and will move level with 6th placed Antwerp if they manage a victory against them tonight and St Truidense beat Mouscron in the other simultaneous game. Liege recorded their first away win of the season against Mouscron last weekend when they won 3-1 after initially going five league games without an away win ( 3 loss. two draws), and that win makes it the 3rd in four games. They need to build up that momentum with a win here to keep up with the top places.
Calling a winner in this tie is a dicey one and I will rather go with the corner options. Both teams have averaged under 5 team corners this season and I quite fancy the trend to continue today especially in the first half where none of Antwerp last five games has seen five corners in the first half and 3/5 Standard games seeing under five with the other two seeing exactly five which was against Eupen and Lokeren, two teams who average lots of corners.
I expect this trend of low number of corners in Antwerp games to continue, especially in the first half-time.
