Sociedad vs Espanyol by Rahul

Real Sociedad have been playing quite well so far this season and are currently in 9th spot; with a victory tonight could move them to 6th; which is generally where they have been finishing over the past couple of seasons. Sociedad have a great attacking threat against any opposition and have scored 19 goals and are the 3rd best attack in the country as of now. Sociedad have relied on the likes of Oyarzabal (4 goals), Willian Jose (3 goals) and Juanmi (3 goals) to score the goals; and they have been obliging regularly. Willian Jose in particular has been in superb form after he netted 4 times in the mid-week Europa League game against Vardar. Defensively, Sociedad have been terrible, shipping 17 goals in those games alone, which shows you that they can be exposed especially on the counter attack. Sociedad matches at home have seen 20 goals in just 4 games, showcasing the great interest they put on their home fans.

Espanyol have been living in mid-table obscurity for the last few games, that has seen them struggle to be consistent in their performances. They haven't scored in any of their last 2 games and with them only netting 7 goals in 8 games, it shows you the struggles that they are facing. Defensively, Espanyol haven't been too bad, holding clean sheets against Levante and Villareal, but have conceded in the remaining 6 fixtures they have played. Away from home Espanyol have really struggled, netting just 1 goal in 4 games played so far this season.

Real Sociedad look in great form, are playing really well and have the goalscoring firepower to get them over the line. I am backing Sociedad to win this game.

Real Sociedad are not in great form! They have just four points from a possible fifteen in the league. In fact their got their first victory in five games against poor Alaves. Espanyol however have two wins, two draws and one defeat in last five games. That is eight points from a possible fifteen. So I don't know where the great form comes from, except you are counting the 6-0 win at Vardar. Your bet should still win though.
