I would like to start with Perth Glory. I am extremely disappointed with the way they play. The scores do not tell how badly they are playing. The win today over the weakest team in the league on paper which is CC Mariners should not fool anyone. Perth played poorly again just like they did against Newcastle Jets where they saved 1 point with a last minute goal and also where they lost to Western Sydney 2-1 . This time the opponent is a lot stronger and it is an away game. I have watched all 3 games this season of Perth Glory and pretty much every game last year as well. The problem this year is the midfield. They cannot control the game and they physically cannot match the opposition midfield. That creates huge space in their midfield and that also causes the forwards and the wings to run back much more than they should and this decreases their efficiency. The new Spanish midfielder Torres has been a disappointment for me so far.
Sydney FC is no doubt the best team of A-league and the defending champion. I don’t see any reason this season why they should not make it 2 in a row. And they are much stronger than any opponents that Perth has met so far in the season and they will be playing at home. Brillante and O'Neill will be too physical for Perth`s midfield and Ninkovic, Brosque, Bobo, Mierzejewski will be too much to handle in the offence for Perth.
I am expecting one way traffic here. The last 5 meetings between these two clubs have ended 3-0, 3-0, 4-1 ,4-1, 2-0 all in favour of Sydney. I don’t not expect anything different on Friday. I have full stake confidence in this game and 1,90 odds will satisfy me , therefore my pick is Sydney -1 (AH) @1.90.
