Houston Astros vs NY Yankees by Senpai
Houston won yesterday’s match, so now they are 3:3 in the series.
Today's starting pitchers are Charlie Morton for Astros and C.C Sabathia for Yankees.
Morton pitched slightly better throughout the season with an average ERA of 3.62, while Sabathia has an average ERA of 3.69. However, the difference in ERA is very little and can be ignored.
While both pitchers were very good during the season, both of the pitchers just seem to have problems in the post season. Morton only pitched for 3.2 innings and gave 7 runs during 3.2 innings, and Sabathia pitched for 6 innings with no runs given. However, Sabathia’s stats were just lucky as he gave 4 walks and 3 hits during those 6 innings. It was simply just lack of concentration by Houston’s batters and the luck is unlikely to come this game; this game can be the last game for Houston and Houston’s batters seem to be back in good condition in Houston’s home field.
Moreover, in terms of bull pen, as witnessed in yesterday’s game, Houston’s bull pen is extremely unstable; none of the bull pen members can be trusted. While Verlander gave no runs yesterday, right after he went down, Houston’s bull pen gave a run in remaining 2 innings, which just shows how unstable they are at the moment. Morton probably can take care of 5 innings maximum, so remaining 4 innings has to be taken care of by bull pen, and I expect the bull pen to give at least 2-3 runs.
On the other hand, Yankees have the upper hand in bull pen, with an excellent closure Chapman on their side. However, Sabathia is most likely to give 2-3 runs in 5-6 innings today.
Thus, considering starting pitcher, bull pen, and condition of batters, I’m going for over 8.0
