Newcastle vs Crystal Palace by Pacifier

Newcastle are looking like the most likely of the three promoted teams to avoid relegation this season. They currently find themselves in the top half of the table in 9th place with eleven points from eight games. They are in good form actually with jut a defeat from their last six games, claiming three victories and two draws and losing narrowly to Brighton. After their opening day 2-0 loss to Tottenham that was made easy by the needless sending off of Jonjo Shelvey, they have gone three games unbeaten at St James Park winning two and drawing 1-1 against Liverpool. They have shown good performances in front of their home fans and would very much like to continue with a victory here. They should line up in a 4-4-2 formation with Ayoze Perez and Joselu upfront. Paul Dummett and Dwight Gayle are both out Massadio Haidara marked as doubtful.

Crystal Palace registered their first goals and first points and first victory in eight games against Champions Chelsea last weekend in a surprising 2-1 win. They got ahead early through an Azpilicueta own goal but were pegged back quick and the score remained 1-1 until a Zaha winner just before half-time. It stayed that way to give them a big lift in their quest to avoid relegation this season. Up next is Rafa Benitez Newcastle, and they have to show grit and determination if they are to avoid defeat here. They are still without a recognised striker with Benteke and Wickham still injured an so should start with Townsend and Zaha in attack in a 4-4-2 formation. This game will see a return of Newcastle former player Cabaye return to St James Park and he will sure hope to make it a memorable one.

Crystal Palace win over Chelsea was a good win, but it still does not paper the cracks in this team. Chelsea lacked drive and innovation in that game and missed Ngolo Kante immensely which helped Palace cause greatly. Benitez will not underrate them under no circumstance and the absence of a proven goal scorer for Palace worries me. I think home advantage will play a big role in this game and considering how well they have performed on this ground, I tip Newcastle to get all three points today. I even reserved small stake on Jonjo Shelvey nicking in one @ 5.50.
