Portland vs Player Special by EliteTips
Huge game here for Evan Turner who will start at the Shooting Guard position for Portland Trailblazers against the Phoenix Suns in the opener tonight as C.J. McCollum will be out tonight because of a suspension in preseason so Turner will take the starter role.
This line to should be reached by Turner here because of many reasons. First he is a shooter and Phoenix does not defend very well, actually they have one of the worst defenses in the league so if Turner takes a couple of shots he will most likely reach 14 points in this game, this is the best matchup in the league for them as the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns are at the bottom of the league in points allowed per game.
Another reason is that Evan Turner has to fill a big gap in the Trailblazers offense as C.J. McCollum averaged 23 points per game so he should be able to at least score half of that and some more points. This is a big opportunity for him and even though he is not one of my favorite players I consider this line to be fairly low for any starter that has a shooting role against Phoenix and Turner will not dissapoint as he looked better this preseason than last season, also expect him to be in the 30s of minutes played as Portland is very shorthanded at the SG position with Pat Connaughton to back Turner and C.J. Wilcox out so there is only 2 players for this position.
Heavy minutes for Turner here and 14 points should most likely be reached by the end of the third quarter.
