Schwartzman vs Escobedo by Marci

Antwerp seems to be tournament to bet on with biggest difference in skillsets of players drawn in first 2 rounds. Young American prodigy Ernesto Escobero (114.) will play against Argentinian who is this season playing best tennis of his career Diego Schwartzman (26.).

In first round Escobero played against another nextGEN player Shapovalov and used very well bad serve of Canadian (only 56%) and won in straight sets with 5 aces 7-6 6-4, while Schwartzman was free as he is 4th seed and used time to acclimate since last tournament he played a week ago was in Shanghai, China where he lost in second round against Roger Federer.

One of reasons I am betting on DIego wo tin in straight sets is his better understanding of his strenght and weaknesses and he is showing much more concentration and consistency than in earlier seasons. In last 6 matches he won 4 and all of them in straight sets against opponents similar to this one (Young, Thompson, Johnson and Tomic). He doesnt have a height or strong serve, but he is making up for it with a lot of running similar to Ferrer back in 2009.

Ernesto as young and talented he is can provide some threat, but in last matches he really didnt show much, before this win against Shapovalov his last win was back in August against Basilashvili and 2 challeneger wins against Kypson(901.) and Sarkissian (296.). If we go even further we can see that he took a set against old Verdasco, but only once, other time he lsot in straight sets. One a occasion he really did showed flash of brilliance and great plays, but I simply dont see him today winning even a set against player like DIego Schwartzman.
