Chelsea vs Roma by Rahul

Chelsea
VS
Roma
Chelsea have played well in this Champions League group stage so far winning both their games including the tough encounter against Atletico Madrid; and that has seen them top the group at this stage. They take on Roma who are the 3rd good team in the group; which should present a decent challenge for them. Chelsea should look to have Alvaro Morata back in the hunt and along with the growing form of Hazard and Pedro; it should present Chelsea with good chances to score. Defensively, Chelsea have shown some chinks conceding goals in 4 out of their last 5 games played including against sides like Crystal Palace, Man City, Atletico Madrid and Nottingham Forest during that span.

Roma are generally a good team, but seemed to have lost the pace of their play since the sale of Salah. They rely heavily on Edin Dzeko to score goals especially tonight with the likes of El Sharaawy and Deferel injured through this game. The midfield will need to take on the extra pressure with players like Under, Nainggolan, Florenzi, Pellegrini to step up and put in a performance to score for them. Defensively, Roma have shown some weaknesses, and they have conceded goals in 3 out of their last 4 games heading into this encounter. With injuries and absences for Roma including Emerson and Abdullahi; they will feel the pressure to score as they will definitely concede in this game.

My pick for this game is for Chelsea to win this game and take advantage of their defensive problems that Roma could face this game. I am backing Chelsea to win this game and over 2.5 goals being scored.
