In first round of ATP Stockholm we will see a match between French Jeremy Chardy (84.) and Italian Alessandro Gianeesi (139.) and winner will go on third seed Jack Sock. Back in 2014 Chardy too had same draw and lost with 2-0 in that 2nd round against Sock, after beating with 2-0 Ymer and I see history repeating itself.Best result for CHardy in Stockholm was in 2015 where he won against Kokkinakis and Delbonis before losing in 3 sets against Gasquet.

Chardy and Gianeesi played 3 weeks ago in Shenzen and Chardy won in straight sets. It was not brilliant performance, but Frenchman did what he was supposed to and witohut spilling much sweat. Last ATP win for Gianeesi on ATP level was in August last year on US Open in 5 sets against Dennis Kudla. Since then he is 0-7 with 2 won sets against Gulbis and Lajovic. If we look only this season he is 1-8 with only win coming from challenger level against Skugor. Chardy does not have great season either, but is in positive 11-9 with some high profile wins like Cilic in Miami and of course losses like Wu last week.

To conclude Chardy have better serve (14 aces in last match against Gianessi) and is better behind the line and it all depends on him, if he will have a bad day he will lose, if he will have an average day he will win in straight sets.
