Brisbane started their season with a 2-0 loss to Melbourne City last week. They created a couple of early chances but both Joe Caletti and Nick D’Agostino missed it. Melbourne City Bruce Kamau made them pay for their misses as he scored twice and sent Brisbane packing home with nothing.

Adelaide got a point in New Zealand as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Wellington Phoenix. It was a solid performance by the Reds. Danish winger Johan Absalonsen continued his good form from preseason as he notched the equaliser to cancel out Phoenix goal by Dario Vidosic.

Even though Brisbane created a few decent chances but the team as expected do look old. They lacked pace upfront. Creative midfielder Brett Holman will be available but the continued absence of Danish Thomas Kristensen could leave them vulnerable in midfield. Adelaide may not have won the first game but show alot more promise in the first game and also during the preseason. I think the Reds will continue to play well against a Roar side who could struggle this season. pin
