RB Leipzig vs Monaco by Moriarty
Both teams had BTS and overs almost ingrained into their DNA last season, and they've both already been involved in a lot of high scoring games early this season. It's a concern for Monaco how many of their high quality players have moved on, and they've been gutted of much of their brightest talent from their breakout year last season when making it to the last four of this competition.
That experience should stand those of the team who are still there in good stead against a team who will be making their Champions League debut and don't keep a lot of clean sheets against strong opposition anyway. Leipzig's strength lies in scoring goals, and in Werner they have the kind of player who steps up for this kind of occasion. However, Monaco should not be taken lightly especially against first timers who will inevitably feel nerves and pressure on this stage for the first time in front of their own fans.
That said I think Leipzig are the most likely winners, and it's only the short price and their inexperience that puts me off backing them. I hope that doesn't come back to bite me, but I think Monaco deserve enough respect to expect a goal here. Keeping a clean sheet will be another story altogether.
