Liverpool vs Sevilla by PatrickBateman

In this Champions League fixture Liverpool will host Sevilla.

After five wins and one draw in the opening six games of the season, Liverpool were thrashed by Manchester City on Saturday. Liverpool started the game better and had couple of good chances, however it was City who took the lead in 24th minute when Aguero took advantage of Liverpool defence`s bad reaction. Things got even worse for Liverpool in 37th minute when Mane got sent off after reckless tackle on Ederson. Liverpool couldn`t handle hosts with a man down and with four more goals in their net suffered one of the toughest defeats in recent years. They will be looking to bounce back in the Champions League but their morale will surely be shaken. Lallana, Clyne and Bogdan are still question. While Coutinho`s status is still under question.

Sevilla are still undefeated this season, having knocked out Basaksehir in the Champions League play-off, while beating Getafe and Eibar and drawing with Espanyol in La Liga. On Saturday they hosted Eibar and recorded convincing victory. Sevilla were in control the whole match but teams went on a break at 0:0. However, right after coming back Ganso gave them the lead. Ben Yedder and Nolito also found a net and Sevilla won 3:0. It will certainly serve as a morale-booster for Sevilla after draw with Espanyol and narrow win against Getafe and will hope to take something from wounded Liverpool. Their only doubt will be Nolito who picked up light hamstring injury.

Liverpool are favourites here, especially since they are playing at home. However, they have been regularly showing huge flaws in defence. Their attack looks great, but lack of stability is something which has continued to create problems for them. Sevilla`s stronger part of the team is also attack, and despite the fact they kept clean sheet in each of the last two games, they will hardly managed to repeat that at Anfield. Also, I can`t see Liverpool keeping their net untouched against any quality team, and Sevilla are surely one. All in all I think it makes every sense to expect entertaining game with number of goals, and therefore I will go with both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.

Good luck!

That looks like winning bet almost according to way how they play but there is a high possibility for red card for Sevilla early in game and I see trashing then.F.T.4-0

If there would be this early imaginary red card for some odd reason, I think Sevilla would be harder to trash. Like we saw with Lille versus Bordeaux and several other games, red card doesn't mean that much in football, usually only makes penalized team to tighten their defense and trust on counter attacks.

But then again, Sevilla is rarely good on road, although they had 0-0 draw with Juventus a year ago.

Aron I agree but the red card also will depend on the amount of sacks performed by Elmo and the Cookie Monster completing a triple double resulting in an ace if there are power plays and icings as well as odd man rushes performed and field goals with set points materializing in the fight goon the distance. I see the red card early like you overall though.

Every single time I come to check on this site, you are literally reading my mind Patrick. You would have to be foolish not to play this one + Leipzig:Monaco today . But I also find great value in betting Porto:Besiktas BTTS at 1.95!

I saw and heard a lot of talking about how L'pool is going to demolish Sevilla today... And I still want to know what planet you guys are coming from. IMO, Sevilla is at least top 3 most organized team in Spain. For all of you that need a translation - one does not simply trash Sevilla. Also L'pool is IMO one of the bottom 5 clubs in Premier League regarding organized playstyle. Klopp is one of the worst managers at adapting mid-game, plain terrible actually. And this is mostly what will prevent them from advancing further than round of 16... Because football is getting more and more tactical every year, there is no spot for YOLO teams in CL knockout stages. I know what you guys are thinking right now, and no, Monaco was nowhere near a YOLO team in CL last season, even though they might have looked like it.
