Watford vs Liverpool by Rahul

Liverpool come into the new season with the entire team set up just the way that Jurgen Klopp likes it. A false 9 in Firmino  (ala days of Mario Gotze) along with 2 wingers in Salah and Mane and a strong supporting midfield in Wjnaldum, Can and Henderson. The team has been in cracking form offensively netting 19 goals over their 8 pre-season games which will be extremely telling for this Liverpool side who finished 4th and netted 78 goals in 38 games. Liverpool like to play a lot on the counter attack which will benefit them as the home Watford side will be the ones trying to find the back of the net early in this contest to create pressure on the Merseyside outfit. Team selection will be on Klopp's mind as they face their Champions League qualifying tie to Hoffenheim in mid-week, meaning Klopp will expect to get the job done early on so that he can rest a few key players ahead of that game.

Watford have come from an average pre-season to find many goals which will leave them looking to make an extra effort on the offensive side in order to try and find the back of the net through players like Pereyra, Deeney and Okaka. Watford struggled throughout last year to be consistent in front of goal and that saw them concede quite a few goals. Last season Liverpool took them to the sword 1-0 and 6-1; so they will look to replicate that form come this pre-season.

Liverpool will look to continue rhythm offensively, and I believe that they can net at least 2 goals in this game, so I am backing Liverpool over 1.5 team goals in this game against Watford.
