Arsenal vs Leicester by Blackcrow

Arsenal look to kick off their season with a home win minus one of their main players, Sanchez, but they were also without him in last weeks 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Community Shield clash. They have an added advantage of a competitive game under their belt, and looked good against Chelsea and expect them to better prepared for this game than Leicester. Arsenal do have some fitness concerns with Mertesacker, Ramsay and Ozil but all are likely to play as they were training with the squad this week. However they are also without Koscielny for this game, which leaves a hole in their defence

Leicester have a few more problems as they are missing Huth in defence as well as Drinkwater and Iborra in midfield. Hard to see them coping with Arsenal's pace and movement, but they do have Vardy up front, who should enjoy some freedom without Koscielny to worry about, as Mertesacker does not have the pacer to go with him. Vardy has scored in two of their last four games with Arsenal so fancy his chances scoring again here, especially if Mahrez can give home some good service to get on the end of. However Leicester did struggle on the road last year, and have won just one of their last eight opening fixtures, so they are not a side used to starting the season off well.

Arsenal have won their last ten meetings with Leicester, and won their last three home games against them 1-0, 2-1 and 2-1. Defence is still a concern for Arsenal and can seem conceding here, but they should have too much for Leicester, as Lacazette looks an interesting signing for them, and he should get the service from the midfielders behind him. It also helps that Arsenal have won their last ten home games against Leicester.
