Basaksehir vs Bursaspor by Filipson
In any other situation I would pick an easy and high win of Basaksehir in this one, but I am not sure this match will be that efficient as the bookies suggest. Basaksehir have a huuuge match against Sevilla in the CL qualifications, and if anyone tells me they are not thinking heavily about that match, he would be very wrong. They will surely rotate for this opening game,at least on some positions, and this surely makes a difference. However, we must state that the hosts are still huge favorites, and they do have a very strong squad. Basaksehir have brought Gael Clichy, a very good winger from Feyenoord, Elia, then Gokhan Inler, Mevlut Erdinc and the ex Galatasaray and Lille midfielder Chedjou. With their previous strenght and the new signings, we cannot deny the power of this squad, and I am quite leaning towards their victory, whoever plays tonight. Apart from that, some players are unavailable, anyway, meaning that Korkmaz, Chedjou and a very good forward Batdal won't be available. The hosts will primarely go for a win and they given the fact it's a starter, they will settle for a plain win.
Bursaspor had a terrible season and they want to forget it as soon as possible. If we go back a bit, we can remember they started the previous campaign quite well, but then completely drowned in the 2nd part, escaping the relegation for 2 points. The new coach Paul le Guen, who has coached Lyon, PSG, and the national teams of Cameroon and Oman surely has more than enough experience to lead this team into the right direction. They didn't have any harder games during the preparation period, probably the hardest one was against Ingolstadt that ended 0:0. They do have some squad problems, as many players are unavailable or under question mark, like the defenders Kurtulus and Tasdemir, midfielders Atasayar and Bilal Kisa, while the forward Yildirim who played a lot last season is doubtful. The visiotors have just signed a very fast and quite underestimated forward of Admira, Dzon Delarge, who will surely bring a lot of sharpness in attack. But this team needs time, and therefore it is obvious what kind of approach they are going to choose for this match. Bursa will play very carefully, with many players behind the ball, so we shouldn't expect some fenomenal football, at least not from them.
If we take a look at their previous duels, we can see that both meetings last season ended with less than 3 goals. They 1st met in the 2nd round last season, when Basaksehir won 2:0 on the road, but the 2nd duel ended with only 1 goal, and it could have easily ended as a goalless tie because Basaksehir scored in the 94th minute here. As I said, their duels can end with a small amount of goals, and I think this one will, too. Basaksehir do posses a lot of attacking power, and their offensive part of the team is really fenomenal, but in this situation, with an incredibly big game few days ahead and against a probably very defensive and aggresive opponent tonight, this could go under. Just in case, I have picked under 3.0 to secure myself just in case, but under 2.5 seems like a very good and tempting option. Good luck!
