Arsenal are coming after a turbulent preseason in which a lot of questions concerning their squad still remain unanswered. Sanchez missed the whole preseason and started to practice only recently, while Ozil is still keeping his options open despite being present since the beginning of new season. Wenger brought two players who should be instrumental in his team - Kolasinac and Lacazette. First one came for free, while for the latter one they paid good money. Both proved to be good additions during friendly games and both will surely claim their starting eleven places. They showed open, attacking-style football during their preparation games and in Community Shield game they looked pretty good. They entered the game without Sanchez and Ozil, but still managed to be slightly better side. They were 1:0 down until 82nd minute when Kolasinac equalized, but they never looked like losing. In the end they managed to lift the trophy thanks to disasterous penalties from Curtois and Morata, and it will surely raise their confidence ahead of this game. Ozil is unlikely to play due to ankle problem, while Sanchez is lacking match fitness. Ramsey is still not ready, as are not Cazorla, Wilshere and Gabriel. Coquelin is doubtful while Mertesacker should be ready.
Leicester haven`t recorded particularly good results in their preseason, losing to likes of Burton, Wolverhampton and drawing with MK Dons. They did however, beat Monchengladbach on Friday which came with the strongest team and that victory should give them morale boost ahead of start of the season. Vardy scored both goals in that game, and Leicester`s success will heavily depend on his form this season. Riyad Mahrez has been allowed to leave but only for the right price, and as he didn`t find a club yet, he should be in contention for this match. Huth, Drinkwater and Slimani are out injured, while Drinkwater could also leave for Chelsea soon if the clubs strike deal. New signings Maguire and Iborra are ready, while recently arrived Iheanacho is lacking match fitness and therefore is unlikely to start.
Arsenal looked pretty good in the Community Shield game, and even if they prove not to be title contenders, they should be among top four. Leicester on the other hand, didn`t look that good in their preparation games and it is hard to see them being much better than last season. Also, there is a problem called Mahrez, who wants to leave and therefore even if he stays he will not be 100 percent focused (similar like last season). Arsenal look like clear favourites here, and while opening games are always hard, last game showed that they are ready to go. They are a more quality team than Leicester and they will be eager to start the season in front of their fans on a positive note. Coming into this game with one trophy already in their hands will fill them with confidence and I believe they will get three points here without too much trouble.
