Real Madrid vs Manchester United by Rahul

And I am back after 45 day break, just in time to kick off the new football season.

Real Madrid come into this season with no marquee signings which they are generally known for and has to settle with some of their youngsters in Theo Hernandez and Dani Ceballos who have signed up as cover for many of their starting players. The loss in players was significantly higher including the likes of Pepe, Danilo and Coentrao at the back while also giving up Morata and James Rodrigues in the attacking berths. That means Madrid do not have much bench strength and that was seen in their pre-season friendly where they had failed to win a single game, drawing 2 and losing 2 of their games. The defense has struggled to match up with 9 goals conceded so far. Up front, Cristiano Ronaldo makes his return back to the Real Madrid side after having an extended break due to his participation in the Confederations Cup. Players like Bale, Benzema, Isco, Modric, Asensio will look to get their season off to a flying one and one can expect Madrid to continue on their merry way of scoring goals like they did from last season.

If you ask Jose Mourinho publicly how important this trophy is, he will say probably not as he would feel this is more of a preparation game getting them ready for the new Premier League season. In his heart, he will want to win a trophy, will want to beat his former side and ensure that the team is in full confidence coming into the new season. Mourinho has reinforced his squad with the beast Lukaku up front, Nemanja Matic to give cover to the defense and talented Swedish defender Lindelof at the back. United have dominated pre-season winning 6 of their 7 matches with only a narrow 1-0 loss against Barcelona disappointing them. Mourinho would actually be extremely satisfied as United have played some tough teams like Man City, Barcelona, Real Madrid in the USA to test them ahead of the new season. Players in the Manchester United team will all be fighting to make a start in the first team in the first weekend of the Premier League; so one would back them to continue firing away.

This game promises to be an entertaining one for the fans in Macedonia as well as those watching around the world and the players themselves. I am backing both teams to score, and back this early as the price will likely fall down come game time.
