Big final in Washington between Kevin Anderson and Alexander Zverev where I will bet on the german to win in straight sets. Yesterday, I was expecting Anderson losing against the american Jack Sock but Sock was absolutely terrible and he lost that game almost without playing it. Maybe he was injured but something was wrong with him for sure. Anderson managed to win that match in straight sets but he was not that good with a lot of unforced errors. Also, he have conceded 5 break points to his opponents and that confirm what I said yesterday. Kevin Anderson is a little bit tired (and that's normal) as he has played very long matches in this tournament. He played for about 1 hour and 30 minutes against Sock and Jaziri but he was on court for almost 5 hours in the other two matches against Thiem and Bhambri. Anderson is not accustomed to play very long matches and, as showed yesterday, he is not at his best at this point of the tournament. To win (even only a set) against Zverev, he needs to be at his best.

Zverev, on the other hand, dropped only a set against Thompson in the whole tournament as he was able to defeat Sandgren, Medvedev and Nishikori in straight sets. He was impressive especially in the semifinal against Nishikori as he won in straight sets in 1 hour and 5 minutes, losing only 2 points playing the 1st serve and 7 points on serve in the whole tournament. Also, after that match against Thompson (2 hours and 13 minutes), he won in about 1 hour and 30 minutes against Sandgren and in less than one hour against Medvedev!! He is very fresh and he is playing maybe the best tennis of his season after Rome.

I think that the german will win in straight sets this one.
