During the off season, Steve Bruce has certainly been given the backing by chairman Tony Xia. While they didn't spend big but big wages are given to players like John Terry (probably the highest paid player in the Championship). Two players with vast Premier League experience Ahmed Elmohamady and Christopher Samba were also signed to strengthen the backline which conceded 48 goals in 46 games last season.

As for Hull, their biggest coup will probably be fans favourite Fraizer Campbell in the transfer window. He played for Hull 10 years ago when on loan from Man Utd. He scored 15 goals in 34 games as Hull was promoted to the Premier League.

Last season, Aston Villa made a poor start which saw their promotion hopes ended before it even started. They had only 3 league wins in the first 3 months. Even though Villa had a poor season but their home record (12w-8d-3l) were pretty decent. Hull has lost quite a number of key players (like Andrew Robertson, Harry Maguire and Tom Huddlestone) and with a new manager Leonid Slutsky in, they may need more time to gel. I don't think this will be a pretty game but I believe Villa who has a more settled side will grind out a win here. pin
