Donaldson vs Sock by Marci

In 3rd round of ATP 500 tournament in Washington we will see a homegeown match between Jared Donaldson (69.) and Jack Sock (19.). Last season here Jared DOnalson lost in 2nd round while SOck lost in QF from later winner Ivo Karlovic. Both players are having best season so far with highest rank in their careers.

One of talented player from USA Jared Donaldson is 20 years old and his best result this season is 4th round of Miami where he lost with 6-2 6-1 against his opponent today. He is talented and is getting better, but he still dont have what it takes to beat the bes out there, his biggest wins this season were against Muller (first tournament of the year), Schwartman and Mischa Zverev, so pretty far from quality which Sock is showing this and last season.

Jack Sock didnt play most of grass and clay part of season and those matches he played , he didnt do much to impress , but on other hand on first part of season on hard court (like this tournament) he excelled and won Auckland and Delray Beach and managed to reach Semi Finals of Indian Wells where he lost against Roger Federer and QF of Miami where Rafael Nadal was better. Now second part of hard court season didnt start as planned where he lost in 2nd match against Kyle Edmund in a match where he served really bad and lost his serve 4 times.

In this tournament Sock didnt look amazing, but still won in 2 tie breaks against Mariusz Copil without single break pion on both sides while Donaldson after beating Sela in 3 sets won easily against lucky loser Polmans. Quality is far on Sock side and he should win again in straight sets without much problems as he is superior than 4 years younger and much more inexperienced
