Copenhagen

Vardar
There's no doubt that this will be one of the most attractive game in the 2nd leg of CL qualification. FCK's challenge is to beat the huge phenomenal Vardar at least 2 goals difference to go through, that will be very hard, but I believe it.

FCK returned from Macedonia after being defeated 1-0 by the only goal in the first 15 minutes of 2nd half. I saw the whole match and it was a great tactical battle between two teams. FCK had to face the enormous pressure from the Vardar's fans from the stands, and also the weather condition difficulty. They could not present the best possible squad at the moment, and even with the full squad they are still very far from their best last season. Therefore, they tried to play in a safe manner and I think they really wanted to come back Denmark with a draw.

Home team Vardar had a typical game of every small teams when playing in front of home fans, that was a pressing tactic and try to attack all the time. Actually, I don't appreciate the way that they use to attack because that was very natural and they didn't make so many "real chances", almost of their chances came from long-range shot and lacked a lot of precision. The only goal they scored coming from a pretty lucky situation when the ball touched the FCK's defender and go the position of Balotelli Jonathan. Anyway, it was totally worthy of their effort. In the last 20 minutes FCK had any good chances to equalize the score but Vardar's goalkeeper had done his work.

Coming back from Macedonia, FCK continued to disappoint their fan by a goalless draw against newcomer Hobro. However I don't see that is a big problem, that means all of their coaching staff and players are thinking about the big fight against Vardar at Wednesday night.

Let's talk about any possible changes in FCK squad tomorrow. In fact, I can not see any positive change from their actual squad because they don't have so much choice in the bench right now. Maybe Thomsen will replace Boilesen to play in the rightback due to his injury.

So the thing I want to emphasize here is the fact that FCK is still much stronger than Vardar and they have a "winning culture" at home stadium Telia Park. Another thing to be noticed that Vardar had probably shown all of their best in the last 3 games including 2 games against Malmo, this team has nothing to be compared to FCK without the spirit. So as FCK back Pierre Bengtsson said "FC Copenhagen's will not attack headlessly in Wednesday's CL qualifying match against FK Vardar, but believes that patience is the way to success."

Absolutely I don't believe anymore surprise will be produced after the 90 minutes. Not a big win but a minimum score 2-0 to go through is not expected to be realized.

@Scapolo I see many people here support Vardar now even Danish punters, but do not think only on what you see. Vardar after all is a weak team and they can not play under big pressure. Last game vs Malmo they could play at home in 2nd leg, now it's change.

The reason for many Danes to doubt FCK is because they have very high expectations for Copenhagen, which have not yet been met this season.

FCK have not been playing great what so ever, but sometimes people also judge unfairly. As an example; a lot in Denmark talk like Vardar were totally outplaying FCK, but that is simply not true. Yeah they managed to create 2-3 chances besides their goal (which they got due to a big FCK-defense mistake, where one player kicked the ball into another FCK-player, and the loose ball then went over in the feet of a Vardar-player.). But Copenhagen themselves made a couple of very competetive attacks, despite them having troubles finding each other. As an example Thomsen had a chance, which you would normally score 4/5 times on, but he mistimed his kick on the ball.

If you look at the game against Zilina at home, then yes the result is terrible and was the first home defeat in like 45+ games, but FCK were actually dominating Zilina quite hard in the first half, where the Slovaks scored on their only chance, while FCK should have scored like 3-4 goals.

So yeah, the plays have not been good, but people take it out of proportion in Denmark, and make it sound like Copenhagen is a contender for relegation.

Agree with you Christopher, I watched also both matches of Vardar against Malmo. The way Malmo played in the 2nd leg were terrible like they were underdog in that game. So compare to what FCK performed last week, we saw totally different.

I agree with my two Danish boys here as well, I think they are Danish. I also think that the Danish league overall holds a stronger level than the Macedonian. FCC has been talked down and I have jumped on the value as I see on FCC to progress now.

Have a good game, even if you don't agree ;)

it's too many problems with Copenhagen.
IMHO the worst time for the last 10 years.
On weekend Hobro hit 3 times crossbar and Copenhagen was lucky to escape loss to newcomers Hobro at home 0:0.
they sold best players before the season and now they lost to injures the best df Ankerson, Hogli, Boilesen. However the Copenhagen experienced team and hopefully will manage to make decent draw 1:1 0:0 as Vardar will be very conservative, defensive. Copehagen didnt lose any games at home for 2 years but now humble Zilina beat them 1:2.

4-1 now it's confirmation for FCK. All you guys who gave me a downvote should learn something from betting :)
