Let's try to start good the new month with a tennis tip. The wait for Maria Sharapova's comeback is over as she will play tonight after 2 months and 15 days against the home crowd favourite Jennifer Brady. It's clear that Maria Sharapova will be not at her best and I don't think that she will win easily.
Maria Sharapova had to retire in her last match about 2 months ago in Rome even if she was leading in the 3rd set against Lucic Baroni. Including that match, she have played only 8 matches after the comeback having problems in most of these matches. She can't be at her best on this surface as her last match on hard courts were about 1 year and 6 months ago when she lost in straight sets against Serena Williams. It's clear that Maria Sharapova is clearly the better player but she will not feel that well on court...She had too much days of break, she had also an injury and I think that this handicap is way to high imo.
Jennife Brady, number 80 in the world, didn't play that good on grass season as she won only 2 matches out of 4 played. After 20 days, she have played an ITF in Sacramento losing in the quarter finals in 3 sets agaisnt Kenin. Brady is a very dangerous player on this surface (we have to remember that she have played even 7 matches in Australian Open this season coming from qualification matches and beating big player as Watson or Vesnina) and she can give problems to Maria Sharapova. It's clear that she will be fully motivated in front of the american crowd and I see a close match. There are chances even for a 3 sets in this clash.
As I said before, I think that this line for "games handicap" is too high considering Maria Sharapova's comeback after a big break and considering that she have played more than one year ago her last match on this surface. I will bet on 2 AH +5.5 games.
