Manchester City vs Tottenham by Vilcox
Manchester City played two friendly matches this season. They lost the derby of Manchester against Manchester United, 2-0. They showed very bad defense especially in the 1st half as they conceded two goals in two minutes. In the 2nd half, they dominated ball possesion but still had few chances to score as Mourinho's team was very capable to defend the result. It's normal...that was only the first "serious" match of Manchester City's pre-season and a bad result was almost obvious. The 2nd game against the champions of Europe was much more better. After a very balanced first half finished 0-0 (City was still the better side), they destroyed Real Madrid in the 2nd half scoring 4 goals in 30 minutes. Also, they conceded a top class goal by Arnaiz Oscar in the last minute of the match. Pep Guardiola's team is favourite to win this match but they showed some bad defense in the previous games especially against Manchester United.
Tottenham, on the other hand, is playing these friendly matches very offensive minded. Before International Champions Cup, they played a friendly match against Kitchee (the best team in Hong Kong) winning 4-1. After that match, they stated International Champions Cup against PSG. They were clearly the better side and they were able to win 2-4 (even as match was influenced by a red card for Trapp). Before that red card, the game was tied 2-2. Tottenham showed increidble offense but, on the other hand, showed that their defense is very poor. That was confirmed in their 2nd match against Roma, the 2nd best team in Italy. In fact, they lost 2-3 a very funny match. They were trailing 0-2 with 5 minutes left in the game but they showed incredible effort scoring 2 goals in 5 minutes. Also, one minute after the 2-2 goal scored by Janssen, they conceded another one losing 2-3 their second International Champions Cup match. All of their three friendly matches was full of goals and with a lot of spectacle. I think that this match will be not an excepcion.
As I said before, Manchester City is the favourite team to win but this match is very unpredictable in term of a winner as both teams are not defending well. Tottenham will score one or more goals today but, on the other hand, they will not be able to not keep a clean sheet in my opinion. Usually, matches between these two teams are open and very funny (even when they are officials) as in 9 of the last 12 meeting both teams have scored at least a goal and at least 3 goals were scored. I will bet on both teams to score + over 2,5 "combo-bet".
