Lorient vs Quevilly Rouen by Alcuni
Not a great start of the season for me yet:(; Clermont extremely poor being heavily dominated by toothless Paris FC (but even so with bit of luck they could have score in dying minutes when missed a good chances); Ajaccio also poor upfront with Niort missing the great chances of the game, NImes also with tones of chances missed all, Brest had the chance to make 3-0 right after they scored second goal but ended like some cu...s, and Tours showing since the begining they are genuine relegation contender (clearly losing against not so great LeHavre). But with some fantastic goals (Nancy, 2nd Sochaux goal, etc)
Let's see what will be today.
Lorient - Quevilly
Lorient relegated from Ligue 1 after finished on 18th spot and lost play-out games against Troyes (1-2, 0-0). They could save a bad season in those 2 games but despite dominating 2nd game they weren’t able to score the goal they need it, finishing 0-0. As a result, coach Casoni was sacked while a long list of players left the team: main GK Lecomte, top striker Moukandjo, Ciani, Philippoteaux, Bellugou, Lautoa, Jeannot, Aliadiere, Peybernes and others. Also a long list of players came in the squad some of them finishing the loan from different Ligue 2 teams: Bouanga, Selemani, Lavigne, Rose while as acquisition I can mention: new coach Landreau, Saad (Strasbourg), Danic (Bastia), Courtet (Auxerre), Lemoine (St Etienne) and Petkovic (MTK Budapest). With a budget of 19 mil EURO and some good reinforcement for this level, Lorient can have a good season and I see them involved in the promotion battle. 2W2D1L for Lorient in friendlies with plenty of goal scored and received also.
Quevilly is finally again in Ligue 2. They promoted last year in National and after only a season are now in Ligue 2. They started the previous season in good manner and installed on the top of the table for long period until last round when lost 0-4 at Chambly (interesting they lost also first game in Ligue 2 also against Chambly 0-1) and losing the 1st spot. They made a good transfer campaign signing with Hartock GK (Brest), Gapka (Lorient, ex Ajaccio), Lefort (Amines), Boujedra (GFC Ajaccio), Duhamel (LeHavre), Madiani (Lens), Caddy (Nice), Salze (Clermont) and other few from National. True is many players finished the loan and returned at their clubs but I think the comings are better than those who left the team. Summing up 11 players left the team but 15 players came in. They have the smallest budget and perhaps will have some problems with homogeneity and adaptation at the Ligue 2 level. Due to this, I think they will be involved in the relegation battle. A single win, 2 draws and 2 defeats in preparation games, also with goals scored and received. no team news on their site.
Lorient lost some good players especially in defense compartment and as they shown in the friendlies they are fragile yet at the back. But upfront they can count on Courtet , Lavigne, Bouanga or Marveaux. Quevilly also with good signing will make difficult life to Lorient I presume. Gapka, Boujedra Madiani and Duhamel can put in real danger Delecroix's but. Overall Lorient is at least one class over their opponents and perhaps will win here. Back Lorient to win and both to score. 3-1 for me. gl
